ABOUT THIS MISSION
PACIFICO — from the Latin pacificus — peace-making. It is the name the world gave to the largest ocean on Earth: the Pacific, the Peaceful, the vast blue expanse that washes the Oregon shore.
Here, on the Pacific coast, where the continent reaches its western edge and the water begins its endless journey, a different kind of creation lives. Not the frantic marketplace. Not the algorithm's hunger. Something older. Something that moves like the tide — with patience, with rhythm, with the certainty that it will arrive.
PACIFICO is the third theme of this opera. Eros gives the fire. Psyche gives the soul. PACIFICO gives the peace — the still point after the trials are complete, the shore where the work finally comes to rest in its own home.
PacificoWorld began with a story--The Cosmic Rock Opera--which describes how Eros and Psyche met at the record machine in a dive bar--and the subsequent transformation. The story has taken many twists and turns, but now they stand at the entrance of the first wave of global evolution. Much as Peter Deunov describes, we are at the precipice of a new civilization emerging from the Pacific Ocean. Was he speaking metaphorically? Time will tell. In the meantime, PacificoWorld IS that evolutionary new civilization that is rising right up out of the Pacific Coast Ocean, here in Oregon.
PacificoWorld is not a website--it's a world being built on a solid foundation of 4 Pillars, a precise architecture, and a coherent philosophy as described in the archives of The Deep. You can't get there from here, though. There is a process and it's one you will have to discover for yourself as you explore the various layers of this evolving ecosystem.
This site is a continent of ideas built from villages, artisans, scholars, researchers, musicians, makers, storytellers, service providers--all of whom enact PacificoWorld's major attributes:
Renewal
Creativity
Reconnection
Stewardship
Mythic Geography
Pacific Consciousness
These circles of makers, thinkers, and artisans work to strengthen the Pacifico return.
Entries into the villages are by invitation, and each contributor offers something essential to the Pacifico movement: craft, scholarship, service, or story and they contribute to the goals to:
Renew what is neglected.
Honor what is beautiful.
Build what is missing.
And to "share & care."
What we offer on this site is open source--much as the open Pacific represents an infinite source.
The Oregon Coastline and the Pacific Ocean provide the first layer of understanding of Pacifico's mission. The Ocean itself is "The Deep," which is the very source of PacificoWorld. You can follow the currents, go with the flow, or ride the waves that call you. The cycle is never-ending and self-reinforcing. To find your way, simply explore this site--and explore often. It is constantly changing and growing.
PacificoWorld is an evolving mythic-digital archipelago that is:
A place of return--you will want to return often to see what's new
A place of sovereignty--you will learn what it means to be a truly sovereign and creative person.
A place of craft, scholarship, and creativity--you will discover amazing works that inspire you
A place outside of algorithmic marketplaces--where connections are intentional and meet PacifoWorld's mission
A place where people gather to build something new--there's always a better way.

The Patterns of Life — reflections on patterns of creativity and meaning
PacificoWorld is a living ecosystem.
Our basic principles are simple.
Wonder begins with curiosity: Explore the site and where paths lead you.
Wisdom begins with learning to see: Learn to identify, understand, and create patterns.
Reality is deeper than we first imagined: All paths lead to the Deep....eventually.
The Laws behind our principles are complex: The foundation must be explored first.
Transformation is action-oriented: If you really want change, at PacificoWorld you will learn how to walk the talk.

Project Pacifico is the return home. It is an evolving ecosystem of learning, making, connecting, and perceiving beyond the algorithmic noise that has shaped so much of contemporary life.
We are stepping out of chaotic, externally‑controlled marketplaces, leaving behind the churn of commodified creativity, and walking toward sovereignty.
We are forming new unions. We are doing the work we love. We are making new connections. We are returning to ourselves.
The Pacifico Project honors the many pathways by which people perceive their true home.
Some arrive through creativity, some through scholarship, some through service, some through mythic imagination, and some through the quiet courage of daily transformation.
All pathways are valid. All pathways are welcome.
But the Deep is different.
Transformations in things-in-the-world are always connected to pattern-constructing dynamics located spatially and temporally. A critical complex epistemology, critical ontology, and critical pedagogy are pattern-constructing dynamics that ultimately change who we are.
Thus, the caution: if you want to stay exactly who you are right now, do not study these critical dynamics. Unless you are committed to resisting any authentic connection with the new experiences such criticality produces, you will return from the encounter with new patterns, processes, and contexts as a different being. (Kincheloe, 2008, p. 252)
This ecosystem is continuously evolving in a nonlinear, non-temporal fashion. Check back regularly for new and transformative information. And if you want to keep up with what's happening, read the Field Updates, follow the streams, and visit the villages.
